Indian ADRs ended lower on Wednesday. In the banking space, ICICI Bank was down 2.13 percent at USD 46.8 and HDFC Bank fell 1.28 percent at USD 41.51.

The turnover of Commodity exchanges in India has declined by over 11% in the first fortnight of May due to range-bound movement of commodity prices in both agri and non-agri sectors. The levy of the commodity transaction tax (CTT) and traders’ growing interest in riskier assets like equity market have also added additional pressure.
Rice bran oil market is expected to grow by 15% to Rs 4,600 crore this year, as per study done by Solvent Extractors Association (SEA) showed. The present market for rice bran oil is around Rs 4,000 crore. This growth can be credited with gaining popularity among consumers that rice bran oil is a healthy option for cooking. 
Gold futures fell by around a percent on Tuesday as equity market rally driven by encouraging US home sales and consumer confidence data decreased bullion's safe-haven appeal. The Indian markets extended their gaining streak in last session supported by some upbeat earnings announcement and positive sentiments generated by the government on its stand on reforms, after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that India's fundamentals are intact and the country will revert to 8 percent growth path. On his Japanese trip he also assured business leaders that India would be taking more steps to attract foreign investments.
